Standing at the Sky's Edge
About
The multi-award winning new musical Standing at the Sky’s Edge transfers to the West End, following sold-out runs at the National Theatre and Sheffield Theatres.
Set to the irresistible songs of legendary singer-songwriter Richard Hawley, with a beautiful, hilarious and gut-wrenching book by Chris Bush, Standing at the Sky’s Edge charts the hopes and dreams of three generations over the course of six tumultuous decades, navigating universal themes of love, loss and survival.
Originally written as a love letter to Sheffield, Standing at the Sky’s Edge reveals the history of modern Britain through the stories of the landmark Park Hill housing estate, in a heartfelt exploration of the power of community and what it is we all call home.
Inspire your students with this unique and engaging live theatre experience. A comprehensive learning pack will be available to support your visit to the theatre, designed to enhance students’ understanding of the production and containing interviews and activities for further exploration in the classroom or studio. Whilst the activities within the pack are intended for Key Stage 4 and 5 students, we’re delighted to share this resource with all of our visitors to Park Hill.
