About Royal Shakespeare Company’s My Neighbour Totoro

Brought to the stage by its original composer Joe Hisaishi and the Royal Shakespeare Company

Winner of six Olivier Awards

Transfers to the West End after two sell-out, box office record-breaking runs at the Barbican

Let your school group find their spirit with the return of the “awe-inspiring” (Time Out) production of Studio Ghibli’s My Neighbour Totoro, in collaboration with Improbable and Nippon TV.

Following two rapturously received, sell-out runs at the Barbican, discover this five-star, ground-breaking “triumph” (Telegraph) at the Gillian Lynne Theatre from 8 March 2025.

Winner of six Olivier Awards, this “jaw-dropping” (Metro) staging of the celebrated 1988 animated feature film is brought to you by the Royal Shakespeare Company and Executive Producer Joe Hisaishi, and adapted by Tom Morton-Smith (Oppenheimer).

My Neighbour Totoro is an enchanting coming-of-age story exploring the magical fantasy world of childhood and the transformative power of imagination, as it follows one extraordinary summer in the lives of sisters Satsuki and Mei.
