About.

Explore this online exhibition.

This year, The New Art Gallery Walsall turns 20! To mark this special occasion, they are bringing together works of contemporary art collected over the last 20 years, many from artists who have featured in their exhibitions programme. Works span a wide range of media and scale.

They have selected both international artists as well as those closer to home and from across the country. Themes explored include the changing urban landscape, the Black Country, the impact of globalisation and people and places. They also acknowledge significant gifts and schemes which have enriched the collections, such as the Contemporary Art Society Special Collection Scheme and Art Fund International as well as the Clive Beardsmore Gift, a collection of 200 modern and contemporary works generously donated to the Gallery in 2014.

Participating artists: Mohamed Bourouissa, Lee Bul, Claudette Chambers, Graham Chorlton, Ruth Claxton, Chris Clinton, Martin Creed, Adam Dant, Rita Donagh, Sir Jacob Epstein, Rachel Goodyear, Brian Griffin, Michele Harris, Romuald Hazoumè, David Hockney, Mahtab Hussain, Andrew Jackson, Chantal Joffe, Juneau Projects, kennardphillipps, Ming de Nasty, Laura Oldfield Ford, Martin Parr, Mark Power, David Rowan, Yinka Shonibare, David Shrigley, Dayanita Singh, The Singh Twins, Bob and Roberta Smith, Soheila Sokhanvari, Andrew Tift, Grazia Toderi, Stuart Whipps.
