Starring Emma Thompson as Miss Trunchbull and Alisha Weir as Matilda, the film is based on the award-winning RSC’s Matilda The Musical.

The film is written by Dennis Kelly, directed by Matthew Warchus and includes the hit music and lyrics by Tim Minchin.

Matilda The Musical will be released by Sony Pictures in cinemas on 22 December this year and then released on Netflix later that month.
