Holburne Museum’s Landscape into Art Workshop
Key Info
Explore the wide variety of ways in which landscapes are depicted in the Holburne’s collection of paintings. Learn about perspective, light and composition.
Pupils will:
– Learn to ‘read’ a landscape and discover why this genre became popular
– Investigate landscapes in the collection
– Use art techniques to explore the secrets of composition
– Create a landscape to take back to school. Option 1: work in the unique setting of Sydney Gardens to create landscapes from life. Option 2: make small, individual landscape set-designs with card and watercolours that show the principles of composition (default option in wet weather)
