About RSC's Matilda The Musical.

Matilda The Musical Logo

Matilda The Musical is the multi-award winning musical from the Royal Shakespeare Company, inspired by the beloved book by the incomparable Roald Dahl.

With book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda The Musical is the story of an extraordinary little girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.

Winner of over 100 international awards, including 24 for Best Musical, Matilda has been playing at the Cambridge Theatre in London’s West End for over a decade, where it continues to delight audiences of all ages.

As well as offering great rates for schools, the Royal Shakespeare Company have created a free online resource to give schools insights into the process of staging this award-winning musical at matildaschoolresources.com.

These include teacher notes full of ideas for how to prepare your students for seeing the production, and a programme of work which aims to give young people the inspiration, confidence and skills to develop their own writing.
