A brief introduction to the immense collections of stars called galaxies.

Discover how galaxies are classified and how we know many harbour supermassive black holes at their centres.

Learn how clues on the nature of galaxies (โ€˜milky objectsโ€™) were gradually uncovered, including of our own Milky Way.
