About.

An interactive tour, designed for Key Stages 3-4, that introduces the history of the gallery and its role as a collector of contemporary art from the 19th century to the present day. Students will be invited to contemplate the purpose of public galleries and their role in documenting and displaying the changing tastes and movements in art .

Students will critically evaluate the evolution of art over the last 200 years, as artists continue to find new ways to express the human experience in an ever-changing world.

This workshop is led by an experienced team who are dedicated to ensuring art is accessible to all. Booking on to this workshop makes this an authentic and valuable way to boost your student’s cultural capital. An on-gallery setting provides the perfect backdrop and resource for encouraging students visual literacy.

Students will be completing drawing challenges alongside recording their observations so where possible, students should bring their own sketchbooks.

*This workshop is only available on request.
