About

Accompany your school trip to WWT Martin Mere with this workshop for KS1.

After a quick chat to make sure the students know what makes a mammal a mammal, in small groups or pairs the students observe WWT Martin Mere’s carnivorous otter family and record their behaviour, structure, habitat and how they look after them. The students find out the amazing adaptations of another wetland mammal in a game of Bat and Moth.

Informative and engaging, WWT Martin Mere’s curriculum-linked learning sessions make the most of the fantastic outdoor environments and are suitable for a range of ages and abilities.

Led by experienced staff, sessions are very much hands-on, promoting learning through exploration and discovery.
