WWT Martin Mere’s The Migration Challenge KS1 Workshop
Key Info
Accompany your school trip to WWT Martin Mere with this workshop for KS1.
For Year 1, WWT Martin Mere begin with big picture boards to tell the story of Sigrunn the Whooper Swan. For both Y1 and Y2 they will visit the Discovery Hide to observe the wild swans and they’ll support the children in pairs or small groups to observe and record what they look like and what they are doing. For Y2 they will develop this understanding with the help of a giant floor map, props and artefacts to bring the birds’ amazing journey to life.
Informative and engaging, WWT Martin Mere’s curriculum-linked learning sessions make the most of the fantastic outdoor environments and are suitable for a range of ages and abilities.
Led by experienced staff, sessions are very much hands-on, promoting learning through exploration and discovery.
