About

Accompany your school trip to WWT Martin Mere with this workshop for KS2 & KS3.

The Icelandic whooper swans at Martin Mere have made an incredible journey. Students will explore their story and discover some of their amazing adaptations for survival, using giant floor maps, props and artefacts. They will visit the hide to make observations of their behaviour right in front of the viewing windows. And finish in small groups to answer the question ‘Why do they go back to Iceland when they are so well looked-after at Martin Mere?

Informative and engaging, WWT Martin Mere’s curriculum-linked learning sessions make the most of the fantastic outdoor environments and are suitable for a range of ages and abilities.

Led by experienced staff, sessions are very much hands-on, promoting learning through exploration and discovery.
