Create lasting and meaningful connections with nature with WWT’s Generation Wild programme.
WWT have recently launched a tear-jerking animation to celebrate the impact of Generation Wild, their nature connection programme for schools, children and families in economically disadvantaged communities. This comes as the 100,000 th nature activity has been completed through the programme. Generation Wild has also been recognised for ‘best contribution towards transforming nature connection’ at the recent Outdoor Recreation Network awards 2024.
Morgan Marshall, Generation Wild Programme Manager, explains: ‘We know Generation Wild is having a positive impact on children’s wellbeing and levels of nature connection, but it’s difficult to give a feel for this using graphs and figures alone. That’s why we commissioned Tom Sears to produce this amazing animation that takes real quotes from participating children and brings them to life.’
Mark Stead, Head of Learning at WWT adds: ‘I am so proud of the team for their hard work and dedication in delivering this fantastic project which is making such a difference to the lives of these children. The ORN award is no less than they deserve for making this happen.’
