Uncover the history of pirates from Ancient Egypt to the present day with The Golden Hinde’s amazing interactive map.
Your students will then get a taste of the pirate’s life with a guided, hands-on exploration of The Golden Hinde.
Their costumed educators bring history to life with replica handling sessions and role-play as pupils are immersed in the unique environment of our amazing galleon.
Students will also be provided with their pre and post-visit resources, designed to encourage them to respond critically and creatively to get the most out of their visit.

About The Golden Hinde
A full-scale and fully operational replica of Francis Drake’s iconic ship, The Golden Hinde is the perfect place to visit for anyone studying the Elizabethans, pirates or explorers.
Designed to complement the national curriculum, their hands-on educational programmes give students a sense of the lived experience of 16th-century mariners in order to enrich their understanding of key historical events. Raise the anchor, fire the cannons and discover what life was truly like for Elizabethan seafarers.
