Museum of Liverpool’s River Mersey – Gateway to the World Workshop
Key Info
This interactive workshop considers the significance of the River Mersey and Liverpool’s geographical location, and how trade helped it develop into one of the world’s leading port cities.
Students will discuss when goods, such as cotton, tea and sugar, were first traded in Liverpool, where they came from and what would have happened to the goods after they entered the docks. The geographic location of each trade item will be identified on an interactive whiteboard world map by the demonstrator.
