St Albans Cathedral’s Art & Craft activity – Brass Rubbing for your students.

The Cathedral is home to many Medieval Brasses, including the stunning brass of Thomas De La Mare and, in this workshop, students have the chance to explore some of them before making a brass rubbing of their own.

At the end of each workshop, all students will have produced a piece of art to take back to school with them.

Most schools combine two activities, usually a trail and a workshop, to make a whole day of their visit. Trails include drama and artefacts to help students develop their learning, whilst workshops allow them to create a piece of artwork to take home at the end of the visit.
