About

Accompany your school trip to WWT Martin Mere with this workshop for KS3.

Catch freshwater invertebrates and, in small groups, identify them and discover how they are adapted to life in a pond and how these adaptations might help or hinder the animals if the environment changes. Students use the correlation between water quality and biodiversity to suggest how clean or polluted our ponds are.

Informative and engaging, WWT Martin Mere’s curriculum-linked learning sessions make the most of the fantastic outdoor environments and are suitable for a range of ages and abilities.

Led by experienced staff, sessions are very much hands-on, promoting learning through exploration and discovery.
