This workshop will introduce students to the principles and considerations involved in planning and constructing a world class sports facility.
In this museum led workshop students will learn:
- The environmental impact, and wider considerations of construction, in an urban environment
- How financial necessities are balanced against human comfort, and cultural prestige, when planning and developing a modern-day sporting venue
- General principles of map-reading
- Specialist understanding of the interior design and operations of Twickenham Stadium
- Insight into the history and evolution of Twickenham Stadium
About World Rugby Museum
Educational groups are invited to explore the hallowed grounds of Twickenham Stadium with a rugby expert, journey through rugby history in the World Rugby Museum, and experience hands-on learning in an interactive workshop.
From primary schools to university groups, the World Rugby Museum has a diverse, award-winning educational programme to accommodate all groups. Educational sessions are available from booking onto the stadium tour. Students will have a practical learning experience or the opportunity to discuss the ins and outs of rugby with a professional in the field at Twickenham Stadium.
