Alongside watching a performance of Radiant Boy students will take part in a creative careers workshop allowing them to explore a variety of roles on and off stage that they could pursue in the creative industries.
Led by Olivier award nominated Producer and lecturer Lotty Holder students will explore their own creative passions, learn about all the roles involved in bringing a theatre show to stage and gain tips for creating future CVs, cover letters and personal statements to boost their creative ambitions and practical skills.
About Radiant Boy – A new play with music
North-East England, 1983. As a snowstorm rages outside, trainee singer Russell and his mother Maud await the arrival of a young priest, who believes Russell is a victim of possession.
Selected by the RSC as part of their 37 plays competition, Radiant Boy is a chilling new play with music. With a soundtrack of traditional songs, North-East folk music and 80s New Wave, the show investigates faith, shame and queerness, and finding connection through art. It is the debut play by Nancy Netherwood.
Directed by Júlia Levai (National Theatre, RSC), and starring Stuart Thompson (‘Spring Awakening’ (Almeida), ‘SAS: Rogue Heroes’ (BBC)) & Renée Lamb (The Original Cast of ‘Six’ (West End)), this haunting production promises to chill you to your core.
