About
The Bush Theatre is a world-famous home for new plays and an internationally renowned champion of playwrights. Visit with your students to discover the very best in new work in a relaxed and inviting environment.
The Bush Theatre prides itself on telling stories from a wide range of backgrounds, and amplifying the voices of those from underrepresented communities. It’s the perfect place to discover brand new, cutting edge and unique theatre.
They have two intimate performance spaces, and stage some of the most exciting and relatable new work in the city, often going on to the West End and stages across the world. Recent hits include Benedict Lombe’s Shifters, Tyrell Williams’ Red Pitch and Richard Gadd’s Baby Reindeer.
The Bush is located just opposite Shepherd’s Bush Market tube station and a ten minute walk from Shepherd’s Bush station in West London.
One adult goes free with every 10 students! Students in Educational Groups are also eligible for discounted tickets.
“The opportunity for our students to see a show with new writing keeps our students engaged. While classic texts are often prioritised in the curriculum, there is space for new writing to also be evaluated similarly. The stories are current, relevant and relatable to our students.”
“I engage with the Bush as they have a firm desire to connect young people from the community to world class theatre. Welcoming, inclusive and informal – our pupils love coming.”
“The communication and ‘offer’ that Bush provides for us as a school is fantastic. The opportunities are well promoted and support is always given to ensure our students get the best experience possible. The shows that are put on allow our students to richly explore the diverse voices and styles of contemporary theatre, and offer an extremely varied audience experience.”
