About Garden Museum

Learning is at the centre of what they do at the Garden Museum.

Their Learning programme aims to be inclusive and accessible with hands-on activities for schools.

Their large Clore Learning Space allows them to host school visits from primary, secondary and sixth form students focused on learning plant science.

The Garden Museum aims to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the science of plants by developing plant science sessions that link to the national curriculum.

Their Clore Learning Space is a dedicated classroom within the museum that can accommodate 30 students. They offer bespoke plant science sessions that are linked to plant biology topics taught at secondary schools. All sessions include a practical investigation and incorporate artefacts from the museum collection or current exhibitions.

Their dedicated Plant science teacher works closely with schools to develop interesting, informative, and engaging activities that teach the plant science component of Biology across KS3- 5 students.

They have been successful in hosting enrichment sessions for schools where timings and content have been adapted to the needs and ability of the cohort attending.

Their GCSE Biology revision sessions have proven to be very popular with students and are a chance for students to consolidate knowledge and the opportunity to perform a required practical. These sessions run at Easter and free of charge to all students.

For next academic year the Garden Museum have funding to provide for 25 free sessions for primary schools and 25 free sessions for secondary schools- if they are in the borough of Lambeth. Please note it’s first come first served.
