About
Imagine the Future is a large-scale poetry project for every Lambeth school that encourages youth voice and young people’s creativity.
Imagine the Future is a large-scale poetry project for every Lambeth school that encourages youth voice and young people’s creativity.
In 2026 the Southbank Centre will mark 75 years since their opening as part of 1951’s Festival of Britain, and they want every school in the borough of Lambeth to be a part of it, through an exciting new poetry
project, supported by poet Lemn Sissay.
Imagine the Future is a free project, through which schoolchildren in Lambeth are invited, and supported, to express their hopes and dreams for the future whilst exploring poetry and developing their creative writing
skills.
Their resulting work will be celebrated in a large-scale installation at the Southbank Centre in summer 2026.
