Immersive Theatres’ Dynamic Earth Workshop

About
Animals, volcanoes, natural fires, and hydrothermal vents have always produced significant amounts of carbon dioxide (CO₂) – so why are we concerned about CO₂ levels today? The Earth has experienced colder – and hotter – epochs in the past. Are increasing global temperatures not simply due to natural cycles?
Discover the Interlocking Systems that Shape our Climate – help your students achieve a global understanding of climate change, as these questions and more are answered in our 360° dome show addressing the causes of the climate emergency. Group discussion is preceded by a stunning 360° film exploring the inner workings of the global climate, with rich visualisations based on satellite data and supercomputer simulations.
Why are CO₂ Levels of Critical Importance to Planets? – during the performance we measure CO₂ levels inside the dome, and compare them to what are considered to be normal levels today, as well as in the recent past. We follow the path of energy from the Sun into the global systems that shape our climate: atmosphere, oceans and biosphere.
