About

Your students will be introduced to the fundamentals of the style, learn Box House’s techniques and practices whist also having the opportunity to devise their very own Platform Theatre pieces.

Platform Theatre is the practice in where the actors tell their story without the use of costumes, set, props, scenery, lights or sound within the confined performance space of a single gym mat. Platform Theatre relies solely on the actor’s arsenal of body and voice to create and build the very world in which they tell their story.

This workshop will be led by two award-winning Platform Theatre creators; who both are actors and directors of the UK touring piece Twisted Tales. Winning a total of 12 awards including best original piece, best ensemble and best director. Most recently, nominated for best play by OffComm.

The students will be provided with the tools and knowledge on how to create theatre without the need for a budget, supporting their development as young theatre makers.
