About

St Albans Cathedral’s Science Trails, for your students during your visit.

The Learning Department offers two activities for students to support learning in Science. Ideal for EYFS and Key Stage 1 students, St Albans All About Me – Our 5 Senses and Materials trails use the Cathedral building to bring Science to life in a practical, hands on way. Most schools also complete one of their art and craft workshops to compliment the trails. These include activities in Stained Glass and Clay Tiles, during which each child makes a piece of art to take back to school with them at the end of their visit.

Most schools combine two activities, usually a trail and a workshop, to make a whole day of their visit. Trails include drama and artefacts to help students develop their learning, whilst workshops allow them to create a piece of artwork to take home at the end of the visit.
