About

Join Take Me To London on a lovely day trip and discover Farnham.

Discover a stunning Castle keep built by the Bishop of Winchester, the ruins of the very first monastery founded in Britain by the reforming Cistercian abbey which was recently used as a back set for the film Elizabeth starring Cate Blanchet. You will also walk to a witch’s cave and see one of the 12 surviving copies of the Vinegar Bible. Hear the story of a hymn writer and a Politian who campaigned for the reform act.

KS2 Religious Studies: Religion in daily life. Why an abbey was built on the site and who lived there.

KS3 History: A local history study. The development of church, state and society in Medieval Britain 1066-1509 and in Britain 1509-1745. A study of an aspect or theme in British history that consolidates and extends students’ chronological knowledge from before 1066.
