The London Archives’ Who is a Londoner Workshop
Key Info
This session is a great opportunity for KS3 students to work with one of the largest archival collections of London’s history.
The session will focus on developing and honing historical enquiry skills, by asking students to focus on five different people from our twentieth century collections, and consider what archival material reveals about the rich mosaic of life in the capital and the diversity of its people.
Students will consider how the way in which archival material is selected for preservation can influence whose stories we have told in the past and those we might tell in the future.
About The London Archives
Following an exciting redevelopment of their learning programme, The London Archives are thrilled to introduce their new range of engaging and in-depth learning sessions for primary and secondary school students.
Each session supports the history curriculum at KS1 to KS4 showcasing their unique collection of historical documents and providing structured and well-paced activities designed to develop history enquiry skills, build confidence working with primary sources and support learning back in the classroom.
Led by experienced history facilitators, their free two-hour sessions allow students to get inspired by London’s past!
A lunch space is available to use for 30 minutes after morning workshops. Schools coming for afternoon workshops are asked to eat before arriving.
