From 9th October 2026, the record-breaking two-part play becomes a single, complete production told in one sitting, opening the Wizarding World up to more students than ever before.

Nineteen years after Harry, Ron and Hermione saved the wizarding world, they’re back on an extraordinary new adventure, this time joined by a brave new generation who have only just arrived at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Ten Years of Magic, and a New Way to Experience It
Since opening at the Palace Theatre in 2016, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has become the longest running play in modern West End history to be performed as a two-part theatrical experience. More than 2.5 million people have seen it there, including over 300,000 first time theatregoers, across 276 cast members and 1,762 performances.
The production holds a record 9 Olivier Awards, the most ever given to a play, plus 6 Tony Awards and 60 major honours worldwide, and has now been seen by more than 14 million people across productions in London, New York, Tokyo, the Netherlands and on tour in North America.
Director John Tiffany says the milestone belongs to everyone who has worked on the show: “It has been an incredible 10 years for everyone who has been involved in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and a joy for us to bring this show to our fantastic audiences in London and around the world.” Rather than simply marking the anniversary, the production is using it as a springboard!
Writer Jack Thorne and producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender describe the move to one part as a continuation of the show’s mission to make theatre accessible to new audiences, giving more students their first taste of the Wizarding World on stage in one complete visit rather than two.
