3. Getting there
We know that a school trip to London can sometimes feel daunting. The idea of getting your whole class into central London can feel like the biggest challenge.
However, it doesn’t need to be.
Getting to your school trip destination can be easy and cheaper than you think!
Travelling by coach
There are coach drop off points at or close to all West End shows, museums, galleries and attractions.
Take a look at TFL’s map to see all the coach parking, coach bays, and drop off areas in London. Or speak to your school coach operator, who will have the expert knowledge of the best location to drop your class off.

Travelling by bus
Travelling by bus will also give you a direct and easy way to get to the venue. Buses (especially off-peak) can also be less busy than tubes and trains, so they are an excellent option for younger students.
Travelling by boat
Travelling by boat along the Thames is a brilliant way to get into the heart of the city – it’s also a lot more affordable than you think! Uberboat by Thames Clippers has services from Putney and Battersea in the east to Greenwich and Woolwich in the West. With stops at Westminster, Embankment, London Bridge and other convenient central London locations along the way.

You can also travel by coach, park at The O2 or Battersea Park, and take the boat to the centre for even more convenience. This offers a really easy way to combine both means of transport.

The City of London in a Nutshell
London is full of surprises. It’s a city that was built throughout history layer by layer.
First the Romans, then the Anglo Saxons, Tudors and Stuarts and now our generation is still shaping this wonderful city. It had been burnt down, lost 15% of its population during the plague, bombed, yet it still stands proud and beautiful.
Join Take Me To London for a half day walk through the city of London and discover it’s secrets. You will see ruins of the old roman city, hear stories of secret gardens and lost churches, the great fire and the Blitz and marvel at the views of the city from Rooftops.
Meeting at St. Paul’s Cathedral by Queen Anne’s Statue and the tour ends around by Tower Hill.
