About.

This workshops aim is to engage younger students in the exploration of the story of Jack and the Bean stalk.

Based on the story of Jack and the Bean Stalk, students look at growing from a seed, making a bed, finding some eggs, creating baked impressions of the giant’s footprints and milking the model cow. This is a lively and interactive workshop where all students are involved. Including a special puppet surprise at the end!

Learning outcomes:
Learn about and identify different eggs
Create giant footstep shaped biscuits
Make a bed to sleep in
Understand what a seed needs to grow
Understand where milk comes from and why farmers keep cows

Ages: Under 5, 5-7

About Cogges Manor Farm.

Cogges Manor Farm offers an exciting year-round Schools Education Programme, covering different age ranges from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to Key Stage 2. They offer full or half day sessions tailored to the needs of the school and curriculum. Cogges is a wonderful site for education and their workshops are adaptable for students with additional needs.

Each subject area is led by their trained Educational Facilitators and volunteers and has been carefully constructed to work in line with the National Curriculum covering key subject areas including history, geography, mathematics, literacy, citizenship, science and design. Their aim is to harness the unique environment at Cogges Manor Farm and create interactive learning experiences to inspire students of all ages.
