Over 70 of the West End’s top stars have come together to perform Do You Hear The People Sing.
As theatres stay shut across the UK and the world, performers from West End shows have joined together to perform this rousing song from Les Misérables.
Stars created the piece to say thank you to the NHS workers and those that have volunteered. The video shows what theatre does best – boosting morale, and reminding us ‘how much stronger we are when we work together.’
The video also supports Acting for Others with a donation link to support the industry. Acting for Others provides financial and emotional support in times of need through their 14 member charities.
Support has been flying in for the arts and cultural sectors, with various schemes and donation drives across theatres, museums and galleries. The National Theatre’s new ‘At Home’ series kicked off with One Man, Two Guvnors – raising tens of thousands of pounds in under a week.
The video was created by Official London Theatre, the official ticket agent of the Society of London Theatre (SOLT). SOLT represents West End theatre and also runs the annual Olivier Awards and Leicester Square’s famous TKTS Discount booth.
