The “Life on a Working Boat” workshop at Dudley Canal & Caverns offers an immersive experience into the daily lives of those who lived and worked on canal boats.

This 45-minute, hands-on session is designed to complement the 45-minute underground boat trip, providing a comprehensive understanding of canal life. Participants delve into the social history of canal boat communities, learning about the unique lifestyle and challenges faced by boat people. Additionally, attendees have the opportunity to tour “Sagitta,” an authentic historic working boat, offering a tangible connection to the past.

This workshop aligns with the  KS1 and KS2 History Programme of Study:  a local history study.
