About

Accompany your school trip to WWT Martin Mere with this workshop for KS1 & KS2.

A simple outdoor game reminds students that different animals eat different things. Students then set off into the waterfowl gardens to discover birds which get their food by dabbling, grazing or diving. What do they eat and how are they adapted to find it? For older students, a further game links the food with the birds’ habitat.

Informative and engaging, WWT Martin Mere’s curriculum-linked learning sessions make the most of the fantastic outdoor environments and are suitable for a range of ages and abilities.

Led by experienced staff, sessions are very much hands-on, promoting learning through exploration and discovery.
